A beautiful area that is rarely visited. Just across the road from Wrangell-St. Elias, the region is on BLM land and so has no wilderness, park or other designation draw attention to itself. A great place top explore.
Be sure to watch out for the beaver dams up top. If you're not careful you can wander right into a marshy mess that some beavers have created.
Even detailed route descriptions such as those found in the book are not a substitute for skills and experience. If you would like to do this route but don't feel that you are ready to tackle the Alaskan wilderness on your own, consider a guided trek.
