Hiking Routes in Alaska's Wrangell-St. Elias National Park
Wrangell-St. Elias National Park, Alaska
Frontcountry Trips

All of these hikes are multi-day trips that start from a roadside or easily accessible trailhead. The majority start on the Nabesna or McCarthy roads or from McCarthy/Kennicott Alaska. But just because they begin from the road, doesn't mean they aren't true wilderness treks.

Many of the hikes in this category begin on trails that allow for quick access into true wilderness settings of Wrangell St Elias National Park and then extend beyond the reach of trails. These are especially appealing to those on a limited budget who can't afford the services of an air taxi provider to fly into more remote areas in the park.
